Stonehenge - The English Bus

We were glad that we had chosen The English Bus as our 1 day trip to Bath, Stonehenge and "a Secret Place".

Before we made our decision, we compared the price of The English Bus with The Viator. We found out that they have their own advantages and we are looking for a good tour guide with guaranteed number of pax per coach.  Also, we prefer to travel in a small group to avoid hassle of waiting during the trip.
So, we decided to go for The English Bus!
Fyi, they are still actively operating the business. You can reach them at this site.
We were arranged to meet up next to the tube station. After we arrived, Paul approached us and we hopped on this cute little mini bus.
We got to sit in front of the bus. *lucky* We enjoyed the scenery along the whole trip! After a while, we stopped by to take a rest at the rest station and Paul explained to us through the map of England with our current location and our upcoming destination.
Finally, we arrived at Stonehenge. We made our way to the amazing historical site. It was so amazing!
*kick the bucket* :-* kiss
Together we can fulfill each other's dream!
Walking into the surrounding of Stonehenge gave you the mysterious feeling . You can only imagine why and how it was built here.
Quick Fact about Stonehenge
Stonehenge is located in Amesbury, Wiltshire of United Kingdom. This site began on building on 3100 BC and it continued until 1600 BC. However, there are some beliefs that Stonehenge persisted since Middle Ages.

Stonehenge and the surrounding locations were added to UNESCO's list of world heritage site since 1986 together with Avebury Henge.
There are few theories about the reasons for its existence. Paul asked us, "Do you know why it was there?", we have no clue at all. He said "It's time for us to think deeper in this case to understand the magical Stonehenge". Thinking it deeply, I felt that this site must be created for some reasons behind.

It might be the site for spiritual ceremony, it could also be the ancient courtyard. Wow, it was very mysterious and fascinating to think about it when we were there. The feeling was indescribable!
Look there is a herd of sheep feeding the grass!
Thanks to another couple who helped us to take this picture.
A far overview of this world heritage site. However, some of the stones had collapsed due to damages by people. It's quite sad to see that.:(( crying
Sneak pic while Paul was busy explaining the myth and history of the Stonehenge.&lt:-P party
A mysterious stone out of the center circle.
*Chilling* I caught a cold when I was there.

We went there during Winter, the wind was very strong and cold. We caught ourselves in extreme cold and all of our hands and ears were almost numb.
*arghh..I forgot to bring along my gloves!!! mr. 's was so kind to lend me his gloves so both his hands were numb when we left there..aww *

Another view angle of Stonehenge.

We are amazed with how they were moved here. The largest of Sarsen stones moved to Stonehenge weigh 50 tonnes. Imagine how people moved them to this location!
The roadside scenery gave you a peaceful feeling.
It was definitely an unforgettable trip to Stonehenge.
After an hour there, we headed to our next destination with the cute little English Bus.
Stay tuned to another dream place of mine, Bath!
