Soul Kitchen Trattoria

“Chic, quirky, tasty Italian eatery in the heart of old town"
Soul Kitchen is run by a couple Tonio & Michele who have great passion for healthy yet tasty food. When you enter this small but cozy cafe, you will be greeted with warmth by the owner.
This nice Italian cafe tucked away on a side street off busy Penang Road in the heart of Georgetown.
Soul Kitchen offers a healthy selection of food and pasta. It’s really a nice place to visit anytime of the day and a perfect place to get lost in a novel.
The first dish a.k.a starter we had was Dried Tomato Salami Entree.
It consists of salami, dried tomatoes, rocket salad and mushrooms. The special thing on this dish is you gotta taste all the four together and you'll be surprised with the taste you got from it. It's GOOD!

Next, we had the Fish Soup.
This soup comes with various fish, prawns, potatoes and carrots. After tasting the soup, I would say that the soup tastes very clear where I can taste the sweetness from the fresh fish and shrimps.

Here comes the main dish. Thre were 6 types of pastas being served. The first one is called Pasta Chicken al Limone. The chicken is cut into cubes and is done in white wine and lemon sauce. Slices of carrots, capsicums and herbs are put together with parmesan cheese as topping. I love the sourish taste in a bite of the chicken cubes.

Pasta Salcissia - The spicy pork sausage tomato herb pasta was absolutely delicious. Their pork sausage is homemade and you can taste the authenticity of flavours in the dish. Did I mention that the owner is very kind and generous in giving parmesan cheese? Well, the picture proved it!

Pasta Como - This pasta is prepared with bacon, white wine and goat cheese. This is the first time I taste goat cheese. Hmm....it tastes well together with the bacon.
Pasta Salmon - Fresh Salmons with mustard cream sauce. *salivating* when I'm writing this. This pasta taste awesome. I will definitely come back for this again!

Pasta Sardella - The pasta served with anchovies, tomatoes, capers and olives. It suits my preference perfectly especially with the olive and tomato fragrant that make the pasta fantastic.

The yummy scent of the food can be smell even you're sitting outside of the shop. While eating, I can feel that the owner really prepared the food with sincerity.

After the 6 pastas, we had pizzas. The pizza crust was crisp and flavorful. It had a thin base and best consume when hot. It made a nice snack to chew on.
Pizza Gorgonzola with Pears - First time eating pizza with pears. The pear taste so good when it's heated up and eat together with the crunchy thin crust.
Pizza Pama Ham -  It comes with ham, rocket salad and Parmesan cheese on top of the thin crust pizza. U will be amazed by the shape of the pizza. Not round nor square..it's OVAL ! Dazzling isn't it?

After all the mains have been brought out, here comes the desserts.
Cappuccino Pana Cotta - It's a type of Italian dessert. Yummie!
Pana Cotta (lemon flavor) - It's an Italian pudding. The aroma of the lemon makes it tastes even better!
The hot seller - Tiramisu
Their home-made tiramisu is absolutely divine, and something that's a must-try here! What makes it so special?
Well, the chef has his very own secret recipe..What makes it so different from the others? The mascarpone ( a triple-cream cheese) which made by the chef make the tiramisu tastes heaven in your mouth. I would recommend it to tiramisu lovers and claim Soul Kitchen's the best you can get in town!
Desserts should be paired with a hot cup of espresso or coffee as their coffee is very rich and full bodied.
Cappuccino, espresso, latte, black coffee..just name it!
Coffee which ends wonderful lunch down here.
Ms. Z w/ the owner Tonio.
Even though it was a hot, sweltering day outside, it was nice and breezy indoors without air-conditioning.
Soul Kitchen -  A quirky place with a simple menu but ever so scrummy. Definitely nice if you want an Asian food beak and yesteryear but not old and dreary ambiance.
S O U L K I T C H E N where your soul lies.
Free Wifi is available here. That's why I said it is definitely a great place to just chat and chill out with friends with a good cuppa coffee and dessert/snacks
