Chai Diam Ma

Ms Z's unsure whether to call it a store or a shop as it's made of a fusion between the two. It's miraculous that someone came up with the idea of infusing handmade craft, recycling and reusing antic furniture into a cafe! It preserves the scent of oldies and brings back our sweet memories of childhood.

"Chai Diam Ma" is the owner's (Queen) passion of bringing back the original idea of ancient grocery stores. The ambitious mind of bringing all those oldies back to life is shown through the Chai Diam Ma concept stores.

It has been established for 1 month by the owner Queen for her ambitious mind on bringing all the creativity and handmade craft concept into her own concept store and café.

The front part of the shop is the compartment that sells handmade craft items. It displays the artistic items that share the same concept with the owner's idea of handmade craft.

The shoes that caught my attention is it has been drawn with different types of themes, like single woman, flower, fruit, etc.
She also presented her extinction ideology on the T-Shirt

The baby shoes are so adorable! Don't u think so? They are all D.I.Y!

Other than that, some dolls are made of socks!! The sock has turned out to be a little cute brown doll and of course with sock pattern that would remind of your daddy socks.

A new unique toy has been introduced to me - “BUGABOO” it represents the meaning of Monster and it has against the idea of duplicate and commercialize dolls and the artist thinks that it(each of them)deserves to be unique as every kid will have their own kind of “friend” in their childhood.

The main dormitory shares some different artist mini gallery.

The pursuit of freedom is symbolised by a bird
(similar to a kiwi bird) which appears all around the café. It has become the logo/icon of the café
Mainly the plants are gifted from her friends.

Did u draw this kinda picture during your childhood?

Top is still under renovation as the owner planned to have it open like a showhouse/exhibition.

The café has opened for more than a month (since 18 of March 2011). It’s still bearable that the café doesn’t have a fix menu on food. Or maybe it's the idea of the owner who prefers the unfix-ed menu?

They have a mini D.I.Y book on limited list of drinks like papaya milkshake, strawberry & mango tea, hot chocolate and etc)

The money box is the grocery store icon. Can u recall back this box in the olden days?

Ms. Z's totally impressed of the overall save cost and production of the ambient surrounding procedure. The wooden chair and sofa, tables are from house moving leftover, school leftover and etc.

The wooden chair would certainly remind me about the primary school life where we are sit in the chair that hurts our backside
