Pink or Blue | How to Make Your Own Gender Reveal Cake

K and I found out the gender of baby K and thought why not make it a little more fun with an adorable gender reveal cake to share the gender of baby K. We like this idea - Rustic Drip Cake and were very pleased with the way the cake turned out.
Baking is something I have always wanted to learn. During this holidays, I decided to take up a baking class to learn the art of baking. I had so much fun baking cake for the first time!

Check out more baking details and funny scenes in my Vlog!
Of all the ‘firsts’ cake baking attempt undertake, the one I was most proud of was being able to separate the egg yolk from the albumin.
Tips for making a Gender Reveal Cake
~ Cake, baked and cooled
~ Prepare Swiss meringue buttercream
~ Pipe a squiggly line of pink/cream/blue buttercream all around the cake and use a spatula to smooth out the lines.
Note: For buttercream frosting you just need unsalted butter, castor sugar, egg white and vanilla extract
Once you get the cake done, the rest is a no brainer: buttercream frosting, white chocolate dripping, decorate with some fresh flowers, macarons, white chocolate sail and start painting the cake with gold dust and add some edible gold leaf/sugar pearls on the buttercream to bring on the BLING! I personally prefer a minimalist, modern design on top because I’m cake decorating handicapped! Hahh...
Pink and blue are the fun parts! This gender reveal cake has either blue or pink filling inside of it which you can only discover when we cut into the cake. If it’s blue, we’re expecting a boy and if it’s pink, we’re expecting a girl!
